The Company discharges its responsibility towards the environment and society effectively. We consider concern for the environment, climate protection and sustainable resource conservation to be the foundation for our future development. We seek to contribute to sustainability by incorporating environmental and social considerations at every stage in the business decision making process. Ample environmental awareness programme is organised within the plant premises and in nearby villages also.
Enriching Bio Diversity:
We positively contribute to the biodiversity as it plays a vital role in sustainable development. Development of green belt in the plants and mines provides several benefits to the environment and the society at large in terms of release of oxygen, absorption of carbon di-oxide, prevention of soil erosion, sustenance of precipitation etc. Tree plantation provides food and shelter to a diverse array of living creatures and micro-organisms. Due to the efforts of our Company numerous varieties of birds, including certain species of migratory birds, and animals have been noticed at our plants and mines. Continuous efforts are being made at the plants and mines to further enrich this biodiversity.

Municipal Solid Waste Management:

Director Technical, Mr. S.K. Tiwari along with Head Lab, RO, MPPCB, Sagar, Dr. R.K. Jain inaugurated a new system for segregation, collection, handling and disposal of municipal solid waste on 7th July 2015.

To facilitate segregation of waste from our residential colonies at Narsingarh & Imlai, the company has distributed buckets to the residents and deployed rickshaws for door to door collection of the waste. Segregation of the waste is then undertaken at the Domestic Waste Management Facility of HCIL before the same is shredded and fed into the Composter to obtain a fine mixture of organic material (manure) for horticulture purposes. Materials such as plastic and paper are sorted and converted into pallets, which are ultimately incinerated into the Kiln.

Additionally, the company has also undertaken a few initiatives such as imposition of ban on plastic carry bags and launch of “Mycem Clean” campaign to curb pollution and promote cleanliness and sustainability at our facilities.
